How to Access the Dashboard/Admin Side/Back End of Your WordPress Website
The video below will walk you through the process with visuals. Here is an overview:
- Go to your website address (i.e. yourwebsite.com).
- Add /wp-admin after your domain name (i.e. yourwebsite.com/wp-admin.
- Enter your username or email address.
- Enter your password.
- Hit enter on your keyboard.
- If you don’t get access on the first try, try another time to make sure you don’t have any typos and you’re using the correct password.
- Don’t try more than a couple of times because you will end up locked out of your site.
- If your login doesn’t seem to be working, select the Forgot your password link and enter your email address or username.
- Watch for an email (be sure to check your spam) – the email should come pretty quickly unless you are feeding your emails into another system like gmail or outlook or mac mail. When feeding emails into another system, there can be a delay in how often they check for new emails. This delay can be up to 4 hours.
- If you don’t see an email arrive and have other email addresses, give those a try too for resetting your password, just in case.
- If you’ve tried all of these steps and still aren’t able to access your website, please fill out a support ticket for help and we’ll get you back in there as soon as possible.
