What Is A Creative Professional?

A target market should feel like a tight belt but not so tight you can’t breathe.  When I started my rebranding process in January, it was suddenly clear to me that I really enjoyed working with creative professionals.   I love being creative myself and see how much it connects me to who I truly am and how much more I feel inspired when I make sure I include time to be creative in my life.

Most people that would fit into this target market know exactly what I’m talking about.  Others are not always as clear.  I think some day I might want to define it even tighter but right now it feels tight enough and is working well for me.  I was working on a project today and came across some information from Seth Godin and LOVED how he defined an artist.  His explanation really resonates with me so I thought I’d share it here.

Seth Godin is fond of saying that art does not require paint or brushes. Instead, art is the work of heart + mind that helps to change the world. Science, engineering, and logic are also art & craft, as is organization, management, and parenting. Your passion is your art.

What is most interesting to me is that I always define who I liked to work with by sharing that I enjoyed working with people who were following their dreams and doing something they were passionate about.  It didn’t really matter what their passion was as long as I could see it and feel it when they shared.  It feeds my soul to listen to people share their passions.

My top core value, my driver, is expression and supporting others to express themselves is what I love to do.  What is it that feeds your soul?
